Oil Shortage? - There seems to be a lot of confusion lately concerning the country's oil supply. Some say there's a shortage, some say there's a surplus. - read more...

Canine Body Language - Roger Mugford, probably the UK's leading animal behaviorist, has invented a device which fits onto a dog's back in order to measure the wag of its tail by using sensors attached to the tail. The idea is that the "wagometer" will allow you to tell what sort of mood the dog is in and whether it's likely to attack or not. - read more...

A Friend - One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, "Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd." I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on. As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes. My heart went out to him. - read more...

Lawn Watering Tips - It's getting to be that time of the year when many of our lawns start to dry out and go dormant. If you water your lawn, or have new grass seed that you are watering, here are a few tips to make sure you are helping your lawn and not doing it harm. - read more...

Are You Eating Too Much Sugar? - Cutting sugar from your diet is quite trendy these days. Many dieters even go so far as to proudly proclaim that they have stopped eating sugar all together. Well, in reality that probably isn't even possible. They naively think that cutting out cake, cookies, and candy means that they are no longer eating sugar. - read more...

Are You Too Young or Too Old to Start a Home Based Business? - "I am only 18 and don't have much experience in business," the young new affiliate states in a popular forum. "I don't have much money. I just signed up for an Internet affiliate program but I don't know if it's something I should do. Is a home based business something I should try?" The response to this question is a resounding, yes! - read more...

How to Make Money with Your Web Site (Part 1) - I can't even count the number of times that people ask me how they can make money with their website. Some want to create a website with the sole purpose of making money. Others, who have an existing website, want it to make some money for them. - read more...

The Pastor's Cat - This particular story just made me laugh. Every time I think about it, the vision of that poor cat just amuses me. Hope the story leaves a bright spot in your day. Whoever said the Creator doesn't have a sense of humor? - read more...

Celebrities and Their Images - How a star appears to the public often involves careful planning which can sometimes backfire. Pop Star Michael Jackson enjoyed the public image of being a Peter Pan like eccentric. He would personally leak crazy stories to the tabloids. He enjoyed reading that he slept in an oxygen chamber so he would live to 150, how he was planning to buy the remains of the Elephant Man, and how his rival Prince was using ESP to destroy the mind of Jackson's pet chimp Bubbles. Later when his publicists told him that he went too far with his wacko image, the gloved one did a series of interviews where he called the tabloids," a bunch of garbage." - read more...

Just Tell Them "Thanks!" - After I got home from the service in 1965, I was appalled by how non-Veterans in the United States viewed the men and women who had given not only their time, but often their lives while serving their country. I attributed this to a lack of understanding of our country's history and in the late 1990s, I started "Honoring All Veterans of All Wars" to teach our young people about the incredible sacrifices that have been made on their behalf. - read more...

Solving America's Drug Problem - The other day, someone at a store in our town read that a methamphetamine lab had been found in an old farmhouse in the adjoining county and he asked me a rhetorical question, "Why didn't we have a drug problem when you and I were growing up?" - read more...
